Handful Of Keys Johannesburg
Piano duo give house loads of pleasure:I saw this show a decade ago and have never forgotten the frolics with accompanying rapier sharp verbal and musical wit, wrapped up in Grazia Verona’s flamboyant costumes. “Only artists with integrity and in total command of the specific genre can successfully afford to skylark their art.” Von Memerty and Colyn’s musicianship and thespian talents are such that this is not a momentary feel good show – it keeps you glowing for years with the key to this duo’s triumph, the exceptional polish and harmony they bring to staying physically, mentally and artistically in tune.

Handfuls of pleasure- I was sold on this show within the first ten minutes. Astute, witty, entertaining, original, pacey, clever, and very, very funny – I am likely to run out of adjectives before I run out of admiration. Ian von Memerty, whose overwhelming success is proof that audiences appreciate intelligence and talent, has teemed up with Roelof Colyn, a young man with serious musical talent, and what a rapport they have created. A Handful of Keys is a show that you will want to watch more of, and will give you many handfuls of pleasure.

With an indolent elegance where there is nothing staged, nothing self-conscious, they dive in and out of the mainly popular music with the unruffled pleasure of dolphins in the surf. What they leave behind is their love of music: you feel it has formed them and it is offered as a gift to the audience. Its grand to watch a show that treats you as an adult
