Afro-D-Ziac Cape Town

The members of Afro-D-Ziac have as individuals, enjoyed a wealth of success and with the collective experience of all Band members, have performed in Australia, Israel, Dubai, Bahrain, Spain, Seychelles, London, Kenya, Turkey and now have a reputation as one of the Best Live Show Bands in South Africa.

With a vast range of musical styles such as Funk, Reggae, Pop, Latino, Jazz, and Gospel etc. they tailor their sets to suit the type of venue & more importantly the audience. They appeared in the famous Star Search Show “Shell Road To Fame” as a backing band for all the artists on stage. Two time 1st place winners of the battle of the Bands competitions out of 20 Bands held in South Africa in 2000.

AXTENT is a five piece band from Cape Town. They are versatile performers who cannot only gauge the taste of the audience, but also deliver a varied & talented set containing everything from early rock to modern pop.

Big N Tasty Johannesburg
Richard has been active in the music industry for many years, has done extensive studio work and was one of the original members of the Irish band Leprechauns. He has performed at barney’s Gold Reef City for 4 years as solo guitar entertainer. Dubai at the Intercontinental Hotel, The Dubai Marine Hotel, at the Hilton Al-Ain, the Radisson SAS Hotel, Oman.

Ricahrd and Vody are finishing a 3 month contract at Carnival City Casino at the end of this month ( Sept). (5 nights per week)
Vodi is a young attractive vocaliste who is also a singing teacher. She has performed with various duos and bands in the Jhb area and did the Tina Turner and Abba show at Gracelands Casino. She joined Richard on his return from Dubai in April 2005. One of the trademarks of this team is their ability and complete willingness to play almost any request received from their audience. Richard and Vody are a professional and vibey team, well suited for any type of function with their massive repertoire. Always prepared to go that “extra mile’, they are welcomed back wherever they perform.

Bit By Bit Johannesburg
This duo curently plays for the Vodacom Power Tour in port elizabeth (Scrabanti)and Johannesburg (Kyalami). They performed as backup band for Watershed, Dr Victor and Mean Mr Mustard and are a favourite for New Year's gigs, among others Sun City Cascades and O'Hagen Sandton. Sally plays acoustic/electric guitar, sax, bass guitar and frontline vocals. She has worked at the Royal Swazi Sun, Swaziland, Holiday Inn/Sun International circuit. Francois plays electric guitar lead, rhythm & backing vocals.

In the context of South African music, “C’est La Vie” is a magical combination of two names – Lauren and Vincent, a sophisticated duo combining 30 years of solid music experience with sexy, sassy, youthful exuberance and extra-ordinary vocal talent.

Colé is a well known singer who has entertained crowds around South Africa and Namibia for many years. They were in England, Germany, Hong Kong (China) for 18 months, a year's contract at the White Swan Hotel, Guangzhou, China, a 10 month contract at the prestigious Hilton Hotel, Swarm el Sheikh, Egupt, 3 months in Dubai's La Moda. They performed for 8 months at Zambezi Sun Victoria Falls, Zambia and at the Sheraton Qurum Resort in Muscat Oman.

Ian Jones (bass guitar/ guitar vocals and harmonies):

Ian hails from Manchester, U.K. He has toured extensively worldwide fronting show bands and playing as back-up for such stars as Janet Jackson, and was a session player for Lisa Stansfield. He is a true professional and brings high standards to every venue that he works in.
Ian is also a highly qualified sound and lighting engineer.

Joanne and Danielle Fisher (vocals, dance, harmonies & percussion) :

These sisters hail from Durban, South Africa and are often mistaken for twins, when in fact there is 4 years age difference between them. Born into a show biz family, their father is Danny Fisher, international singer, comedian and impressionist with the world famous Blarney Brothers. Who have just completed a 4-week sell out season at O’Malleys Irish bar in ShangHai.
The girls have worked with the All girl bands Strutt and Blonde Ambition around South Africa. Take a combination of strong vocals, tight choreography, a cheeky sprinkling of audience participation and you have two vibrant, professional young entertainers who are gorgeous to look at and listen to!

Debbie Wilson Johannesburg
She exudes a modest confidence, yet is completely sure of herself which is also reflected in her performances, collaborating with bands and musicans at a variety of events, including office functions, weddings, parties and pubs.

You'll probably be seeing a lot more of Debbie and her fellow musicians around shortly, as they start an intensive tour of all our favourite local venues and restaurants.

This Proudly South African group launched their album at Mofolo Park at the Arts Alive’s Heritage Day Celebration It consists of 14 tracks featuring South Africa’s finest artists including Johnny Clegg, Gloria Bosman, Vicky Sampson, George Phiri, Dr Victor, Adam & Bez, and Verny Scholtz. The album was produced and engineered by some of the top names in the business, with production by Verny Scholtz, co-production by Alexis Faku, Adam Howard and Dr Victor. One of the tracks, ‘I Wish’, was recorded with some of the children from Childhood Cancer Foundation SA.

Insomnia duo plays all genres and style of music from Pop, R n B, Rock, Contemporary, Jazz, Blues, and Continental European to name but a few. Up until the Olympia Countess, was a regular entertainer on the Alabama, Cape Town’s only floating restaurant.

The duo performed at Hemmingways ( Hilton Abu-Dhabi) from December 2004 to end March 2005, then returned to the Schloss Hotel, Dresden Germany till end September 2005.

A sexy, sassy 21-year old with extra-ordinary vocal talent and ability. In 2003 she won the senior vocal section of the World Championship of Performing Arts held in Los Angles. In early 2004, Seth Riggs, the renowned vocal coach of Celine Dion, Cher, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Michael Bolton, invited her for vocal training at his academy in Los Angeles. She spent 5 months in training with him. During August 2004, she again participated in the World Championship of Performing Arts – 5 Gold Medals and adjudged overall winner of the vocal section – An International singing star in her own right.

These are just some of the highlights in Lira’s career. She was discovered by Arthur Mafokate of 999 Music in 2002, he was the only one to give her a chance at releasing an album of a genre that still needed development in this country.

In a short time Lira, a composer and songwriter, had written songs for Abashante and collaborated with Artists such as Arthur, Eshmail, Skwatta Kamp and Kabelo Mr Bouga Luv.

Mafikizolo Johannesburg
Songwriter/composer/singer Kgosinkwe, composer and rapper Madingoane and the delectable female lead singer and composer Mafu had targeted every listener - young, middle age and old - and it paid dividends. Other members of the group who make things happen on stage include dancers Castro Mkhize, Maggie Simelane and Gugu Mbambama.

Suddenly the name Mafikizolo is on everyone's lips and causing a storm in the clubs, outdoor and at corporate events. Indeed ... the kwaito group has grown by leaps and bounds since their best-selling 2000 album Gate Crashers, which featured the popular track "Majika" and "Loot". The album was also released overseas in the United States, Europe and Asia by the evergreen Masters at Work.

The group released its debut self-titled album "Mafikizolo" in 1997, which was followed by "Music Revolution" in 1999. With "Gatecrashers", the group stamped the authority in the music industry.

Their EP “ For Better Or Worse” was released 12 November 1999, through Universal music of South Africa.
The song “ Sixteen” reached 10th position on Radio Metro.
The Video “Forever My Lady” claimed the # 1 spot on Studio Mix, SABC 1 with the song achieving 4th position on K-FM, Western Cape.
The Maxi Single ‘Obsession” was released on 12th October 2001.
Bonus Track ‘Honey Bun” immediately reached the number 3 spot on East Coast Radio. This resulted in a demand for the product, where title track “Obsession” broke barriers in the rest of South Africa and on Y-FM.

Their sound is a great mixture of different genres which highlights the group’s diverse culture. They have excellent harmonies, oozing with sex appeal and this means they easily create a fun, desirable atmosphere for a great night out.

The charming young girl from Gugulethu with the shy smile and soaring voice captivated South African television audiences last year as she travelled from Cape township to Idols runner-up. Poseletso recently released her debut single “Meadowlands” which was considered one of the highlights of Idols 2003 and is destined to become a modern day classic. Included on this single is the classic Beatles ballad “Let it be” which Poseletso has interpreted beautifully with her unique vocal ability and made it her own. Joseph is doing “quite a lot” of corporate singing and voice-overs for radio and television. (He was M-Net’s Action Attraction Supersport-Voice for a couple of years.) Joseph is also the guy in the TV-commercial who manages to drive a four-by-four out of a pool of quicksand after literally disappearing into it!! (Yes, he really did go under – 6 times!) This year he kicked off with his own QUEEN-show “don’t stop me now!” at venues across the country.

He will be performing Joseph Clark - QUEEN (presented by MASTER CARD and East Coast Radio) at the Playhouse Opera House in Durban on 17 & 18 September as a gala fund raiser for HIV-Aids-infected children of the St Mary’s Hospital. Fans in PE can look forward to seeing this show at the PE Opera house towards the end of November!

The Rock Rebels Johannesburg
